About Miramar Collars
Born from my deep affection for dogs and artisan quality, Miramar Collars was established in Stewiacke, Nova Scotia, as a tribute to my beloved Mira, our Weimaraner family pack matriarch. After she passed unexpectedly, I felt a calling to transform my grief into vibrant, handcrafted art that honours her beautiful spirit. Today, I pour that same devotion into every piece I create. Each collar is meticulously hand-woven from the highest quality Type III paracord to ensure your companion receives gear that is safe, tough, yet soft and comfortable. We believe your pup's equipment should be a beautiful reflection of your unique bond, making every walk a safe adventure for you both.

EM Collars and Bracelets
A natural, gentle way to complement your pup's tick control program using effective ceramic microorganisms.
EM (Effective Microorganism) collars are a specialty item, meticulously handcrafted to provide a stylish alternative for your dog. EM ceramics have been marketed by some to have tick repellant benefits associated with them; we prefer to say they are not a replacement for conventional tick control from your vet, but as a complementary layer that may offer your pet or yourself extra coverage to repel ticks. Please note there is NO science behind this, no scientific proof or peer reviewed information, only pseudoscience - anecdotal only and should be treated as such. EM pipes are commonly used for water purification and some agricultural practices. They will do no harm but should not replace the use of conventional tick control.
Artisanal Care in Detail
01
Curated Materials
We source premium paracord, Biothane and European hardware for every collar. These materials ensure your pet enjoys maximum comfort and durability.
02
Expert Hand Weaving
Each collar has hand made Biothane extenders (unless otherwise requested), and is expertly hand-woven to be as remarkably strong as it is beautiful. This meticulous craftsmanship ensures your dog receives a truly original, one-of-a-kind accessory.
03
Unique Customization
We personally guide you in selecting custom colors, patterns, beads (where applicable) and hardware to reflect your dog's unique style. Together, we'll design a bespoke piece that feels special to both you and your pup.
What is Paracord?
Originally used for parachutes, 550 Paracord Type III is an incredibly strong, lightweight nylon cord that won't rot or mildew. It has a breaking force of 550 pounds. We also use 425 Paracord Type II for smaller dogs or for intricate accents which has a breaking force of 425 pounds.
We use top quality paracord to create gear that is as tough as it is stylish, giving you peace of mind on every walk.

Paracord Collar Care
Our collars are designed to be both strong and distinctive, made with care and attention to every detail. To help yours stay looking its best, follow these simple care tips:
-
Remove the collar before rough play, swimming or heavy mud.
-
Hand wash gently in cool water with a mild soap.
-
Rinse well to remove all soap from the collar.
-
Pat dry with a towel and let it air dry fully, out of direct sun.
-
Wipe the hardware with a soft cloth to keep it clean and shiny.
Getting the Perfect Fit
Accuracy is key for custom paracord gear. Follow these simple steps to ensure your dog stays comfortable and stylish in their new handcrafted collar.
1. Position the Tape: Have your dog sitting comfortably in a natural position (not standing or lying down). Place a soft plastic or fabric flexible measuring tape around the middle of your dog's neck, exactly where the collar would naturally sit.
2. Check the Snugness: Pull the tape snug against the fur but not tight. You should be able to fit exactly two fingers comfortably underneath the tape.
3. Record the Base Size: Take note of this measurement in inches or centimeters. This is your dog's actual neck circumference.
4. Add Ease for Paracord: Because paracord is thick, we recommend adding 1 inch (2.5 cm) for small dogs and 1.5 to 2 inches (3.8 to 5 cm) for medium to large dogs to your final measurement for the most comfortable fit. This final measurement is the circumference needed for your collar.
